Dr. Cong Wang

Cong was a Chinese visiting research student in the Peay Lab from Feb 2019 to Feb 2020. He is interested in microbial community abundance, composition, physiological traits, functional traits and their roles in regulating ecosystem processes. He finished his PhD at South China Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), where he studied effects of nitrogen deposition on soil microbial community in tropical forests, supervised by Dr. Jiangming Mo and Dr. Xiankai Lu. Since Oct 2020, he is a postdoc in the Cheng Gao Lab at Institute of Microbiology, CAS. His current researches focus on the role of fungi in regulating soil carbon sequestration and plant growth/defense.
