Undergraduate

Sage McGinley-Smith

Sage is an undergraduate who joined the lab in Fall 2021. Sage grew up in the woods of Vermont, where she developed a love for ecology and the outdoors and worked for the University of Vermont Forestry department in the summers. She is currently undeclared but is interested in studying Human Biology or Computer Science and finding a way to combine her interests in ecology, public health, and data science. She became interested in fungi through working on a mycoremediation project at the Cape Eleuthera Institute in the Bahamas and has been involved in multiple projects in the lab this year. Outside of the lab, Sage enjoys trail running, playing ultimate frisbee, and cross-country skiing.
