Dr. Glade Dlott

Glade was a graduate student in the Peay lab from 2015 - 2021. His research focused on the influence of soil properties on the interactions between fungi and bacteria at different spatial scales, from intercellular interactions to landscape biogeography. He conducted research with soils and organisms taken from Jasper Ridge Biological preserve, and his work builds on the extensive history of ecology here. He went on to work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Kellogg Biological Station at Michigan State University, advised by Dr. Sarah Evans. There, he worked on soil and microbial influences on agricultural resilience to drought in row cropping systems in the Midwest. His research focuses on the mechanisms linking microbial ecology to soil structure, and ways microbe-mediated structural functions can be effectively altered by soil management.
